what is homeopet-bottles with droppers

Homeopet is a range of natural homeopathic remedies that can be safely given to your cat or dog. While some I’m sharing with you here are formulated especially for cats, others can be given to both your cat and dog.

Although there’s no guarantee homeopathic remedies will work for your cat, there are many who find they do. In addition, as Homeopet is made with 100% natural ingredients, there products are very safe,

As you’ll notice, each Homeopet product is formulated for a particular condition. This is because homeopathy is based on using a variety of different substances tailored to treat each individually. There is no one size fits all!

As all products come in dropper bottles you should find them very easy to administer. Simply add a few drops to your cats water or mix in with her food.

The good thing about Homeopet is all their products are recommended by veterinarians, and registered with the F.D.A. This should give you peace of mind if you’re at all concerned about safety.

A look at Homeopet products in detail, and symptoms they may help ease

Here’s a quick look at each Homeopet product in detail including ingredients. Plus, conditions each one may help ease.

HomeoPet UTI Plus Urinary Tract Infection for Cats

Urinary tract infections are very common in felines, and chances are your cat may suffer at some point. Homeopet UTI plus, urinary tract for cats contains a variety of ingredients that may help support urinary health.

These include cantheris, arnica, and nux vom. All ingredients are purely natural, and diluted to achieve best results. My article on homeopathy for cats explains everything about potencies.

Cantheris is obtained from a green beetle. The substance itself is a toxic blistering agent, but in highly diluted form is extremely safe. It’s been used for centuries to treat urinary infections, and is known to ease burning sensations.

Nux vom is sourced from an evergreen tree and frequently used in homeopathy to treat nausea. It may also help relieve urinary tract problems.

Typically, your cat will drink more water and feel the need to pee more often than normal. These exact same symptoms are experienced by women suffering boughts of cystitis.

Your cat may also develop struvite crystals in her bladder which can be painful. Homeopet claim UTI Plus Urinary Tract may also help reduce the formation of these crystals.

You can also give your dog this product, but in larger doses. However, if in doubt ask your vet first. This could be useful as dogs are also prone to urine infections as well. However, if you notice any drops of blood see your vet as soon as possible.

Feline Nose Relief

feline nose relief

If your cat has ever suffered watery eyes or a runny nose it can be alarming. However, just like us, cats can suffer from allergies.

It could also be a sign of cat flu though, so keep a close eye on your feline friend. Feline nose relief is 100% natural and can be safely given to your cat.

Homeopet claim it’s safe to use with medication but I’d recommend asking your vet. This is because even natural products may affect some types of medicine.

Some of the main ingredients include echinacea angustifolia, and chamomilla. Echinacea is a plant also known as the purple coneflower. Substances harvested from it are used in immune boosting supplements.

You’ll be interested to hear it’s also used in preparations for cats and dogs. This substance has been found to be effective in reducing respiratory congestion and easing cold symptoms.

Chamomilla is more commonly recognised as chamomile and drunk as a calming, herbal tea. However, it’s also used as an eye wash for soothing runny eyes.

It’s interesting to know it can safely be used in homeopathic remedies for cats. As well as helping to ease runny eyes and nose your cat may be suffering with, it may also boost her immune systm.

Feline Nose Relief can be given to cats of all ages with no known side effects. This means it’s safe to use on kittens as well as seniors. You get 1 15m bottle with up to 90 doses which is very good value.

Feline Purr Dental

feline purr

Oral hygiene is just as important for your cat as it is for you. In addition, caring for your cat’s teeth and gums can add years to her life.

Sore gums can be painful, and a build up of plaque can lead to gum disease. While regular brushing can help keep your cat’s mouth healthy, a product such as Feline Purr may also help.

Main ingredients include silicea, frageria, and calc phos. Silicia is a mineral derived from flint. It’s often used in homeopathy to treat diseases caused by a weakened immune system.

In addition, silicia is commonly added to toothpaste for helping to reduce plaque and tartar. This same remedy can be given to your cat or dog.

Frageria is known for its effectiveness in dissolving plaque, and calc phos for strengthening teeth and bones. In fact, calc phos is a mineral found in teeth.

As with other Homeopet products, Feline Purr is suitable for cats of all ages and is very safe. It’s never too early or too late to start caring for your cat’s teeth.

A good idea is to get your kitten used to having her gums gently rubbed once she’s about 8 weeks old. Once your cat’s teeth are fully formed try and make brushing part of her grooming routine.

Feline Furball Relief

feline furball relief

If you’ve been a cat parent for any amount of time you’ll know all about hairballs! Though more common in long hair breeds, short hair kitties can also throw up the odd hairball.

Feline Furball Relief has been formulated to support your cat’s digestive health. This may help her digestive system pass material through much easier.

A sluggish digestive system is less able to pass through hair and your cat is more likely to produce hairballs. Retching, gagging, and hacking are all common signs a hairball is imminent!

A few of the main ingredients include Alfalfa which is a type of hay. However, unlike grass hay, it has a high amount of protein

One of a cat’s natural instincts is to eat grass. This may help prevent the build up of hair in the digestive tract. In addition to alfalfa, nux vom is also added to help prevent nausea or vomiting.

Carbo Veg, another ingredient in Feline Furball is commonly used in homeopathic remedies. It’s also known to be effective in easing digestive problems, and even used as a hangover cure!

Though your cat is unlikely to get drunk, it may help her digestion! Lastly, Cucurita pepo is a type of squash, frequently used in homeopathy as a cure for nausea.

As with other Homeopet products it’s easy to administer. Simply add the correct dosage to your cat’s water or food. As it’s tasteless your fussy kitty is unlikely to know she’s taken it!

Dog & Cat Leaks No More

Dog & Cat Leaks No More

Just as in elderly humans, cats and dogs can suffer incontinence, causing leaking. This is more common in spayed or neutered animals with dribbling often occurring during sleep.

If your cat suddenly shows signs of incontinence it’s important to get her examined by a vet. This is because there are a variety of reasons that may be causing it.

These may include urinary tract infections, diabetes, hormonal issues, or even physical abnormalities. As well as taking blood and urine samples your vet will carry out other tests to provide a diagnosis.

Natural products such as Dog & Cat Leaks No More can provide support alongside conventional medicine. As Homeopet only uses 100% natural ingredients there’s very little risk of side effects.

Some of the main ingredients include cantharis which may help ease bladder irritation. In addition, gelsemium may help reduce any anxiety your cat may be experiencing.

Stress can aggravate your cat’s incontinence. This could be caused by anything from thunder, fights with the cat next door, or a whole host of other reasons.

Lastly, another ingredient found in Dog & Cat Leaks No More is causticum. This is also known as potassium hydrate and often used to help treat children with bedwetting.

As with all other Homeopet remedies you’re advised to drop each dosage directly in the mouth for best results. However, as any cat parent knows, this is easier said than done!

Simply adding the dosage to your cat’s favourite treat is probably the easiest way. Also, you add the drops to her water bowl, or mix in in with food.

Feline Anxiety Relief

feline anxiety relief

Your cat is a highly sensitive being and prone to stress and anxiety just as much as you. For example, loud noises, bullying from other pets, or a visit to the vet can make your cat stressed.

One of the most widely used remedies is Feliway which for many cats is highly effective. In fact, most veterinary surgeries have plug in diffusers to calm their patients!

However, not all cats are sensitive to Feliway, so another remedy I’d recommend is Feline Anxiety Relief. This natural solution can be given to cats of all ages and may help your kitty feel much calmer and happy with life!

Feline Anxiety Relief contains a variety of stress busting ingredients which may be of benefit your cat. These include gelsemium, causticum, and silicia.

In addition, arsenica alb may help reduce restlessness and pacing. Also, pulsatilla, a perennial plant native to Europe is included. This is often used in homeopathy to calm muscle spasms.

Benefits of natural remedies for your cat

Not only are natural remedies kinder, but cut back on the amount of toxins going into your cat’s body. However, not all are equal so it’s a good idea to do a bit of research first.

Many natural remedies are a mix of herbal extracts and essential oils. Each remedy will be specifically formulated to treat your cat’s particular ailment.

Depending on what’s wrong with your cat, you may be advised to get her examined by a vet first. This is to establish whether or not surgery is needed, or simply a change in diet.

Some vets specialise in herbal remedies and if you live in the UK you can find a list of qualified ones here. Of course, wherever you are in the world, you should be able to find a herbal vet in your area

You can also find veterinary clinics that specialise in holistic treatments. If you live in America these can be found in the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association website.

The good thing about herbal or homeopathic remedies is there’s far less chance of any side effects. Also, they tend to be far less expensive! Whether you have cats, dogs, birds, or other species, there will be herbal solutions for each.

In conclusion

I hope you now understand what is Homeopet and how the products may help your cat. I’ve always preferred using natural products whenever possible.

As I’ve previously mentioned, I’m not medically qualified and any information I provide is through my own research. If you’ve tried natural products and your cat shows no sign of improvement you should get her examined by a vet.

Sometimes the only answer is medication, but homeopathic remedies are usually safe as a complementary therapy. Whether you decide to try Homeopet or any other natural remedy I hope it works well for your cat or dog.

  1. Kathy,

This is great information. I actually love the furball relief as well as the stress relief. I know my Mom will be very interested in these products since her cats are pretty stressed out all the time from my dogs. Plus, she has 4 long hair cats that are always gagging up furballs. Of course, I always feel bad for them when they do, because they have pretty long fur. I couldn’t imagine having to groom myself with that much fur!

    Thanks for sharing this information!

  2. Hi Kathy,

I don’t take many medications but some natural food to cure myself if I get a cold or something. So, I will prefer to treat my pets the same way I treat myself. When I came across your article about Homeopet products for cats, I knew this is the one.

The Homeopet products are made with all-natural ingredients, registered with the FDA, and recommended by veterinarians. It looks like I only need to add some drops in the food for my cat, and then it might help with some symptoms. So, I will try Homeopet products next time my cat gets ill.

    Thanks for sharing today,
    Matt

    • Hi Matt, thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed this post:) I also use natural remedies for myself whenever possible, and the same applies to my cat. Yes, it’s good to know Homeopet are FDA registered and only use pure natural ingredients. Adding drops to water or food is so much easier, and as the products are tasteless, I don’t think there’ll be any suspicion!!
