As a pet parent it’s important to prepare for any eventuality. In this Eusoh review we’ll be looking at an alternative to standard pet insurance as well as pros and cons of each.
Just like us, cats can suffer illness, have accidents, and a whole host of things that need medical attention. While your cat is young chances are she’ll enjoy good health. However, as she ages the risk of illness or disease increases.
In adition, if you have a pedigree certain inherited disorders can be a problem. Many of these will require veterinary care, often with expensive bills. Seniors can suffer arthritis, diabetes, kidney disease and many other conditions to name but a few.
What is Eusoh and why is it different?
You may have heard of Eusoh but want to find out more about it. Is it worth the money and can it really cut the cost of vet bills?
Actually, Eusoh isn’t an insurance company, but a community. You’re not paying a monthly premium, but instead a variable amount that’s based on other members. However, this never goes above $48, and in fact is often lower Keep reading to discover exactly how this works and if it’s right for you.
How Eusoh works

Eusoh is a community of pet lovers, within which are lots of groups. All must have ten or more members, and you can either join a moderated or non-moderated group.
One of the main benefits of joining a moderated group is it doesn’t require you to be voted or need to vote other new members. This is something you’ll need to to do once you’re accepted into a non-moderated group.
In addition, moderated groups may possibly accept pets with ongoing medical conditions. This is something you’d need to spend time looking into as not many accept those with long term problems.
You can view details about each group before deciding to join though. These include number of members and average expenditure. This is great as you can make a decision based on group numbers and how much they’ve been claiming. While some may only have 10 members, larger groups may have as many as 400 or more.
In addition, you could always start your own group up with friends or family members. However, you’d need to find 10 willing to join before it can become active.
How do you request to join a Eusoh community?
When you first sign up with Eusoh you have to fill in a questionnaire. This serves as your application to join a group with other members being able to freely view it.
Although you can’t edit the form once you’ve filled it in you can add your pet’s photo anytime. Once members have looked at your questionnaire they can vote to accept you.
It takes 24 hours before you know the group’s decision, and there’s no guarantee. However, once you’ve been accepted into a group other members can’t remove you.
How much do you have to pay?

When you first join Eusoh you’re required to pay an initial $48. This goes into your community group’s pool. In addition, you also pay a monthly flat fee of $17 which goes to the company.
As you will never be asked to pay more than $48 a month this means your monthly fee will never be any higher than $65. In addition, if no claims are made from your group in any given month, you’ll receive any unused funds back into your account.
This is great news as I don’t know of any pet insurance company that does this. In fact, Eusoh doesn’t make any money from it’s participants apart from the $17 monthly subscription.
One thing to bear in mind though is you have to pay annual out of pocket expenses before you can draw on your group’s pool. This means for example if your cat or dog needs emergency surgery costing $1,000, you’d pay an initial £250 plus 20%. The remaining 80% will be paid from the community.
As you’re only charged out of pocket expenses once a year, any other claims you may need to make during that year will only require 20% of your vet’s fees.
How do you make a claim?

As with many pet insurers you have to pay your vet the full amount, then submit a copy of the receipt. However, instead of waiting one or two weeks at most, you’ll need to wait 30 days before you’ll receive payment.
You upload your receipts on the dashboard within your account, and wait while an administrator calculates the amount you’re entitled to. This takes 30 days before the money is deposited into your bank account.
Reimbursement is always based upon average pricing in your area, and you can actually look up this information in your account.
In fact, armed with this knowledge enables you to make an informed decision before you even pay for treatment. Unfortunately, costs can vary quite widely so it makes sense to do a bit of research first.
If you have a regular vet who cares for your pet it’s worth mentioning the average fee, especially if he or she is charging more. You never know, you may even get a reduction!
What does Eusoh pet insurance cover?

You’ll be pleased to hear that unlike many pet insurers, Eusoh covers wellness care, as well as alternative treatments. The main thing you need to consider though is they don’t cover pre-existing conditions in most community groups.
Here are some of the things Eusoh covers;
- Surgical procedures
- Prescribed medication
- Wellness care
- Alternative treatments
- Hereditary conditions
- Diagnostics
- Annual checkups
- Cancer
Injuries
What Eusoh doesn’t cover
- Flea and tick treatments
- Heartworm treatments
- Hygienist treatments
- Grooming
How you can earn money by referring your friends

One of the benefits of joining the Eusoh community is you can earn money by referring others. While most of us are happy to recommend our favorite products or services, very few get paid for it!
You can earn money by becoming an Ambassador. This is a simple process of filling in a form and getting a special code.
For every friend who joins Eusoh using your code you get paid $40. You will have to wait for all requirements to be met, but the more you refer the more money you can make. For example;
Refer 5 friends and get paid $200
Refer 10 friends and get paid $400
Refer 20 friends and get paid $800
It doesn’t take a lot of working out to see the potential! However, if you don’t have a large circle of pet loving friends you could always use social media or even start your own pet blog like this one!
Pros of joining Eusoh
No monthly premiums
Free to use any vet of your choice
Friendly pet loving community
Capped monthly costs-you’ll never pay more than $65
Get paid for referring friends
Cons
You’ll need to wait 30 days after filling in claim forms
Many groups within the Eusoh community don’t accept pets with pre-existing health conditions.
You have to accept a one year commitment otherwise you lose your initial deposit.
Is Eusoh pet insurance right for you?

Eusoh is fast becoming a popular way for Americans to cover the cost of vet bills. Unfortunately, it’s only available in the U.S. at this time, but they plan to extend to other countries.
It may be right for you if you can afford to wait 30 days for payment. Also if your pet has any pre-existing conditions Eusoh may not be right for you, unless you find a moderated group willing to accept.
I hope you’ve found this Eusoh review helpful and it’s answered some of your questions. Having the funds to cover veterinary treatments for your pet is essential.
You never know what can happen even to a healthy pet. As long as you have a credit card with enough balance to cover your vets fees you should be ok.
You’ll then be able to pay back your credit card 30 days after submitting your receipt. If for some reason you don’t have one it’s a good idea to put money aside into a separate bank account.
Pet insurance companies tend to increase premiums as your cat or dog ages. While you can often find a good deal for younger pets, it can work out very expensive for seniors.
In conclusion
The good thing about Eusoh is, no matter how old your cat or dog is you’ll never pay any more than $65 a month. Although Eusoh can’t guarantee you’ll find a non-moderated group who’ll accept long term conditions, it’s worth a try.
Another good bonus of joining Eusoh is they cover alternative treatments as well as wellness care. Not many pet insurers offer this and it’s certainly worthwhile considering. This is because treatments such as acupuncture and reiki can be very beneficial with some conditions such as arthritis.
Eusoh is a very new and unique way of ensuring your pet’s veterinary bills are always covered. However, it may not be the best solution for everyone. In addition, they only cover cats and dogs. If you have rabbits, hamsters, or other species of pet, you’d have to find regular pet insurance.
I don’t know of any other company who offer similar perks, and the idea you can even get paid for referring friends and family is quite unique. In addition, I’ve always found pet insurers increase premiums each year. It may not be much while your pet is fairly young or middle aged, but rises steeply in their senior years.

We looked at this before and were waiting for someone to do a review on Eusoh to have insurance for our dog. We will need this, our dog is a puppy right now, so this is going to benefit us to have this for his monthly check-up.
The best thing is no monthly premiums awesome.
Thanks for this review, we are going to pass this on to other pet owners around here.
Cheers,
Mathew&Deloris
Hi Mathew, thank you for your comment and glad you enjoyed this post:) Yes, Eusoh will certainly help pay for your puppy’s health checks and having no monthly premiums is a big plus. Thanks for stopping by and sharing this with other pet owners:)
Hello Kathy,
This is much-needed information. I somehow liked the Eusoh system of Pet insurance. They don’t charge a lot, and they pay you back the unused monthly fees too. That’s cool.
I also find that they have a really attractive affiliate program. Worth checking out.
By the way, Coco is doing really well.
Love,
Aps
Hi Aparna, thank you for your comment and glad you found this post useful:) Yes, getting back unused fees at the end of a month is one of the great benefits of Eusoh. In addition, the referral program is a good incentive and could even make a nice income! Thanks for stopping by:) Good to know that Coco is well:)
Hi Kathy,
My cousins both have cats and I’m not sure how informed they are or if they even have insurance. Euosh sounds like something that they should really look into asap and get it sorted for their cats.
I have shared this article with them and I have advised that if they have any issues or burning questions then they should get in touch with you, if that is OK?
Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work.
All the best,
Tom
Hi Tom, thank you for comment, and for sharing this post with your cousins:) As long as they’re in America they’ll be able to consider joining Eusoh. However, it doesn’t support any other countries at this time
Thanks for sharing this review, Kathy. Eusoh sounds very interessting. One thing that I like the most about it is the community. This is something that I’ve never encountered before. It’s cool to have an access to groups of people that you can communicate and share the experience with. Also, no premium fees are also a big bonus for my decision-making process. All in all, I like the entire offer. Thanks again for sharing this review. You’ve helped me a lot! Have a great day.
Hi Ivan, thank you for your comment and glad you enjoyed this review of Eusoh:) Yes, it’s very unusual to find pet insurance that not only has a community but also doesn’t charge monthly premiums. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts:)
Eusoh seems like the best solution for pet owners to cover the medical bills. It’s sad to know that the insurance cost rises dramatically high when pets are getting older, which makes the situation worse in the pandemic. Your article today gives us a new option for better saving our money and keeping our pet safer & healthier, so I find a lot of value you are providing.
The referral plan also looks nice! You can even make commissions by referring other pet owners to join the community. It’s like a stone kills two birds. Pet owners will definitely love Eusoh.
Thanks for sharing today. 🙂
Matt
Hi Matt, thank you for your comment and glad you enjoyed this post:) Yes, it is sad that senior pets cost more to insure, but like us, health problems tend to become more common with age. Eusoh definitely provides pet owners with a good alternative that could save money. Thanks for your input:)
